Network Concept and Map

Below is a rough layout of my network.  This is obviously a snapshot in time as things are always changing as the technology changes.  The basic premise of the system is to accomplish several things.  First, it provides real time backup for all the computers that are on the network using the one instance backup solution built into Windows Home Server.  The basic concept is that it will back up every system every night the systems are on.  Second, the servers will provide multimedia content through the house enabling music, photos, and movies to be viewed anywhere in the house.  This is accomplished by both home theater PC's (HTPC) or the use of Network Media players (See Network Media Player page for details).  Lastly, it provides a common location to store all files as every folder on the servers are "duplicated" meaning the data is stored automatically on two separated drives in the event of hard drive failure.  This feature is performed and controled by Windows Home Server (WHS).
